The other question might be, Is IBM still selling VTLs? AFAIK the
ProtecTIERs are End of Marketing and there is no replacement...

While on the phone with BRMS support today, I mentioned that I might be
going to a VTL library.
IBM support mentioned that the only supported VTL libraries are IBM's.
Even though the 3rd party VTLs may work fine, they are not supported by
IBM.

I was seriously considering one of these 3rd party VTLs, but now I'm not
so sure on the choice.

One of the goals of the VTL was to add a 2nd library, eliminating the
daily manual tape handling to off-site storage.

Anyone in the group using non-IBM VTLs?
