Not getting on your case Jack but I see so much "Oh it is easy in Python" - but nobody ever shows how in a meaningful manner for an RPGer.

I can understand this sentiment. There have definitely been examples
of how to do things in Python on these lists, but I can appreciate
that they might not seem "meaningful for an RPGer".

I think one of the reasons for this perception is that most examples,
especially the ones which are accompanied by "it's SO easy in Python!"
are meant to be standalone. Python is the whole story in these
examples. RPG generally isn't even in the picture, so there really
isn't the issue of sending information "back" to RPG.

Buck and Jack seem to have gotten a lot further than I have when it
comes to calling Python (from non-Python) and getting something back
which resembles a parameter or return value. For me, I still arrange
my Python use on the i such that Python is writing to the database or
an IFS stream file, or communicating with something outside the i.
