The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

When you say 'production library', you mean 'production directory',
correct?
Correct. I meant production IFS directory.
And this just gets weirder:
I went looking for other ZIP alternatives for AS/400s, and found the
sg246716 redbook, as a PDF.
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg246716.pdf
I went to manually install InfoZip, according to Appendix C of the redbook.
In the process, I discovered that our V6 box ALREADY HAS InfoZip
installed. Not just installed so that it will run from QP2TERM, but also
made available from QShell. I don't remember installing it before, and I
looked at two customer boxes, both on V7 and they DON'T have it. So that
leaves the question of how we got it.
And while I haven't tried it on the production IFS directory, I DID just
try it on a somewhat larger test directory that had caused JAR to throw
that same exception.
This just gets weirder and weirder.
