Thanks. That did it. I figured it was *something* like that, but all I could find on short notice was how to do it in bash.


Oh, and by the way, in the end, it turned out that a "rm -$ *" takes almost exactly the same amount of time as my own "DELTREE" utility. I'm surprised that what I wrote, long enough ago that I'd have to IPL a box that's only up on an as-needed basis in order to even remember how it worked, is almost exactly as fast as something that came with the OS.
