I find that if you actually use the BRMS recovery instructions from the
BRMS report you generate (not just the list of tapes report!) it works
flawlessly. I've done several. And we use 4-8 drives per lpar to do our
saves.

I'd like to make a suggestion. Instead of Production being your owning
LPAR make your DSLO combined image your hosting lpar. This way, you can
migrate it first, with no pressure or time constraints. Once it is there
then you can start creating the image catalogs and nwsd's for the guests.
Again, no time pressures. For grins and giggles you can try another BRMS
save of the old DSLO lpar and restore that as a guest lpar, on your new
machine. Just to test your BRMS save/restore. Again, no time
constraints. Once you have that figured out, tape and comm guesting
tested you can initialize it and start restoring the other lpars as fits
your schedule.
