Jim,

Yes, this is a hosted LPAR.
Yes, I believe this is related to storage management.
5 NSD with 6 NWS of 100gb each. 30 NWS total.

I don't anything special for these.
Is there any special shutdown procedures for NSD/NWS?

Paul

Paul:

You should be able to get the shutdown history prior to activating the
partition again.

In this case you will have to power all the way off, deactivate, then grab
the codes, now reactivate.

This is a hosted partition correct? I'll bet that it's happening in storage
management shutdown. If hosted, the Network Servers are not getting varied
off too quickly are they? I've seen that happen when the process is set up
with a CL.

I had an issue on my R&D LPAR during power down, hung on a code, D9xxxxxx (I
don't have the exact code).
This issue occurs on every power down.
I have open PMR with IBM, they need the exact code.
HMC Reference Code History only goes back to the last IPL.

Is there a setting that controls how long to keep the HMC code history?
Does this log start over on an IPL?
If not, anywhere else this can be obtained.

I'm doing another power down/IPL to recreate the error.

Thank You
