All true words...I am tired of apps that basically ask for access to everything.  Not a good idea.

But the OP should take a serious look at Progressive Web Apps (PWA's).  They look identical to a native app. The ability to find and install the web "app" just by accessing the web site leads to higher conversion rates of visitors to customers.  AliBaba switched from an app to a PWA..not some fly by night outfit....https://developers.google.com/web/showcase/2016/alibaba

I get the "Don't fight city hall" approach but sometimes you just have to shine a light in the right direction.
