I've been taking it off of my systems because IBM always runs way behind
on bind versions which causes that system to fail audit scans. IBM's
answer is that I'm supposed to tell the auditor that they are supposed to
also check PTF's and stuff to see if the CVE they are concerned about with
a lower bind was addressed by having a particular PTF on.
The auditor says they are no way going to add that to the scanner.
And the auditor is IBM.

I submitted a RFE to get nslookup and dig as part of the base OS and not
part of DNS. It was declined.

Leaving it on your system but not running it is like having a known virus
.exe file on your PC that's required to be there but you just shouldn't
run it.
