I have no idea ASMI is, or if we even have an HMC port.
I know we have a 4-port NIC. Two lines are standard Ethernet, and one is our "console port".

When using a non-partitioned Lan-console'ed machine I always recommend cabling the HMC port and having access to the ASMI interface. It's the only way to recover from a "RESTART *NO" situation without having to be next to the machine.
