Yep had a customer like that. HAD. They never changed the tape and of course the system failed right after that thing you do before you start the backup: INZTAP. Yes they had RAID and that's why they didn't call when the first drive failed 18 months before. They stole their ECS modem line for their fax machine. They they bailed on the machine because "These AS/400's are so hard to manage."

Back in my consulting life it was amazing that the time most often that a
system died was during backup. So, if you didn't rotate media, you were
toast.
