LOL....

Once you go image...you won't go back!

Last one I did with physical disks was to v5r2 I believe....

How'd we ever get past the abacus?

The cool thing when you stick with the disks is when you get to the 14th
disk and find it bad. That makes upgrades fun! Stick with them for the
entertainment.

I always find it entertaining to have to sit in front of the box and
manually feed those disks in during the upgrade. I really especially love
having to keep a close eye for that last flash of the drive before I press
the option to start reading from this disk. It's such a vicarious thrill.

i cannot tell you the last upgrade I've done using the disc's. Really.
Image catalog's are the only way to fly. In a multilpar shop you may even
want to evolve into the net based image catalogs.

I'm thinking of going with disks, not catalogs. Mainly at the behest of
the BP,
and that's what I've done in the past.

Your upgrade should be fine.
The hardest part is knowing if all the 3rd party products will work.
Reach out to them, if any.

Are you using an image catalog for your upgrade?
If so, to minimize your down window, consider building a combined V7R2
and CUM
image.
