I have been real lazy. WRKPTFGRP and order the groups. I never send now. Later I submit a job SNDSRVRQS ACTION(*PREPARED) to run over night.
This has never failed for me. I let the iSeries do all the work for me.

I concur, I use FixCentral and FTP if at all possible. I must confess however, I don't typically even download the text files. I just download the .BIN files, add them to my image catalogue and run a verify.
