I concur, I use FixCentral and FTP if at all possible. I must confess however, I don't typically even download the text files. I just download the .BIN files, add them to my image catalogue and run a verify.

When you use ftp you will get a couple of .txt files first. One will tell you the byte count of each image which will be downloaded. This allows you to verify the size at least.

Keeping in mind that I order the cume, all groups and miscellaneous recommended PTF's in one fell swoop these are from last quarter:

FILE BYTE COUNTS
----------------

The ilstCUME2.txt byte count is approximately: 488480.* The CUME2_1.bin byte count is: 4152360960.
The CUME2_2.bin byte count is: 3906201600.
The CUME2_3.bin byte count is: 3897344000.
The CUME2_4.bin byte count is: 3778203648.
The CUME2_5.bin byte count is: 673388544.

From WRKLNK:

Object . . . . . . : /fixes/cume/CUME2_1.bin
Size of object data in bytes . . . . . : 4152360960
Allocated size of object . . . . . . . : 4160749568

Object . . . . . . : /fixes/cume/CUME2_2.bin
Size of object data in bytes . . . . . : 3906201600
Allocated size of object . . . . . . . : 3909091328

Jim:

I would use fix central to order them and use FTP to bring them down to an
image catalog

Yes the second file would be corrupted. I would delete them both. You
should be able to reorder them again. Check the firewall to see if there
is a large file transfer rule to slow it down. I've been running into
that quite a bit lately. Otherwise call the internet provider and
complain. Chances are they slowed you down but will lift the restrictions
as soon as you let them know your unhappy.

The sndptford was for latest *cumpkg for v7r1 with reorder=no, to image
files

Two of the bin files were downloaded though 2nd may not be complete.

Process ended around 24th hour - still not sure from network why so
slow.

WRKPRB entry is still in status "SENT" and is not closed, but it does
have
ptfs in it's list.

Do I need to clear something so that sending request again will not see
that
some were recently downloaded, but I have to assume those image files
most
likely not useable?
