We use MAILTOOL here. I write the MAILTOOL API's in every one of my program to email it there is a program has an error.

Really, you could not code it yourself for the cost of MAILTOOL.

With our email software (MAILTOOL) there is NO need for a separate windows email relay.

It will work with any mail server over SSL, TLS, with authentication, etc.
And even have options to send using OAuth 2.0. Which is cool.

Contact me and I'm happy to help you rid yourself of the Windows PC proxy in the middle of things. :) I

I didn't say MS was getting rid of SMTP anytime soon. But, when they've committed to NOT updating it to use new features, we all can see the writing on the wall with that. (ie, IBM and Ciphers for supported OS versions ring a bell?) Just a hunch.

Well, I'll try, but when I see "benefits" quoted like that I get the

Message Labs also checks our email going outbound to ensure that we do
not send out a virus. Yes, you can put a virus into an IFS file and,
yes, you can email that attachment. This way ensures that doesn't happen.

A further comment I have may be interpreted as FUD but I seem to
remember some destinations not accepting email from you if your email
originated from some 10.* address, NATted address, or some such thing.

It pains me that the IBM i needs Windows in order to send email.
That's what sticks in my craw. I want the IBM i to not need another
server to send email.

In regard to sending email from IBM i (applications, command line,
etc.), a separate relay service (Windows, Google, Message Labs,
whatever) is not required. Perhaps others can explain the "benefits",
if any.
