Even if it didn't, for example if you simply stuck in the DVD for i 7.3
and cranked up a "D" mode IPL, it would fail. After 'some minutes' you
get a kind and gentle SRC code that when researched says: "Nothing here
to run this machine with." And it's a hard stop.
Since it found nothing to run it will not have touched the existing
disks and thus other than the loss of time, no harm no foul.
