Had anyone upgraded this model anyway and got it to work?
</snip>

I'm as game as anyone to try weird things. Like why can't I run this
particular version of Domino on this newer version of IBM i? (That's
always a Java issue. Always.)

I also run on the bleeding edge. I've probably been responsible for a
resave or two because the release wouldn't IPL during the upgrade because
of some unique hardware issue and you can't PTF it if you can't even
upgrade to it.

This being said, I REALLY would not try to upgrade your model to anything
higher than what it says is supported. If you insist, then, of course, do
a complete full system save first (which you should do anyway).

Hopefully the worst that will happen is that IBM put the same logic you
are seeing in your preupgrade verification tool into the actual upgrade
and stop you dead in your tracks..
