This sounds right for an online ordering process. There may be a socket
doing a wait.
Scott Klement has a tutorial on sockets programming. I'm guessing you're
using a package for this.
You could see the suggested "select()" for additional information. Hint:
they are NOT talking about an SQL select.
I would imagine that the job is sitting on TCP/IP on port such and such
waiting on socket such and such for someone to say "hey, I've got money to
burn and are you willing to take it?". And then when someone does place
an order it's on that like <politically incorrect comparison deleted> and
that's when your CPU utilization goes up.
