When you build a system using the DLSO option (Larry and I tend to do this
all the time) the profile will assist in setting up what is put onto the
distribution media. I don't tend to mess with it too much because normally
I'm doing OS upgrades with them. New installs are really rare, as opposed
to unload/reload.

The advantage to doing an OS upgrade this way is when I deliver the OS media
to you for the upgrade, 100% of the PTFs you will need are already applied
therefore cutting down the length of the down time needed to do the upgrade.
On a P8 (8way with 4 cores turned on) I did a V7R1 to V7R3 upgrade in just
shy of 75 minutes last week. With the shutdown and start up the upgrade
took under 2 hours. Customer happy!

I have not closely followed this discussion... but does Option-41 for
establishing an Installation Profile assist in any way?
