I'd wager no, unless V6R1 is still under support from IBM and they're
issuing PTFs.

I know they had to fix a lot of SSL things for V7R1 and up in the past, but
I don't recall if they also did it for V6R1.

One of the reasons I had to move to V7Rx was the SSL issues. A lot of our
software uses SSL and this update will affect a lot of customer.

Come July (I believe that's the month) there will be a LOT of changes
because of the new rules that came from the heartbleed bug in openSSL I
believe. Especially for financial institutions.

I would contact IBM personally to get the best answer. :)
