The larger software houses just make the proclamation that you did about
only releases currently supported by IBM. However, they can stick to it.
I still remember one of them saying that when they made that announcement
at their annual user group meeting they were expecting a lot of wailing
and gnashing of teeth. What they got instead was standing applause. Now
the customers had a business reason to force their management to upgrade.

This customer is so full of security holes it ain't funny. Way out of
date ciphers etc. IDK how things are on your side of the pond but once
you go public here the audits are intense.
