Are you using single signon? If so, it could be a Kerberos issue.

Both of those things sound plausible, but don't quite fit the "symptoms" that I've observed. I asked my coworker again if she remembers what our admin did. She doesn't know exactly, but what she does know is that she now has to keep her passwords the same on both of the LPARs in question for DDM to work for her. What's more, she was told she also has to keep her network/PC password the same as what she uses for the i. (That last part doesn't strike either of us as intuitive, but I don't think she has put it to the test.)

Issuing DSPSVRAUTE on her profile shows no entries.
