I've found that if you just follow the steps in the Knowledge Center you
are going to do just fine. I do all my OS upgrades this way, and they're
all from image catalogs. Just did a 7.1-7.2 upgrade yesterday following
these steps. Will do another this weekend.
As far as specifically answering your question, when you apply the PTF's,
as part of the upgrade steps, it should automatically flop you over from
the 'A' side to the 'B' side.
