80 words a minute is not very fast. My wife was a legal secretary and can
hit about 115-120. An old friend was the legal secretary of the year in
Minneapolis back in the 70's, and she did 140-150 per minute.

Have you ever seen a teenager typing 80 words a minute?

Granted, I had to unplug my external keyboard and mouse and store it under
my desk to get used to it
I hate that my second laptop has a misfunctioning keyboard and I have to
use an external keyboard. What a pain!

An expert 5250 user does not want to touch the mouse. The web interface
can be used with keyboard alone, even if that is hard for users without
5250 experience.

this is a misunderstanding of GUI, most of the time a GUI user will have
his/hers mouse in his/hers right
hand it is much more efficient to use the TAB that requires the left hand

The expert user will be happy if the web interface has a javascript that

I installed a nice Windowsy interface for one guy and he couldn't see

He was using client access and had his sessions full screen in a

I can't remember the name of those data entry stations that used to

write

data to 8" diskettes..

But anyhow some of those "gals" were amazing - as you say keying two
pages
in advance...

I'd like to see how that works on a web-app if at all..!!!

PS..I've found it if you want to be nostalgic..

Does "type ahead" work good?
We have an order entry gal that keys 1 or 2 screens ahead. She's

quick.
