I've seen mails dissapear.. When our former mail host implemented a weird
spam filter on OUTGOING mails without bounces. We were silently losing
mails without any information. We ended up changing hosts (and ended up
with gmail, damm cloud).
Jon, are your mails going thru an ISP's mail server or do you have your
own? might be a problem like mine...

That's why it's perplexing that this is happening with a Gmail account.
I've never seen emails not appear somewhere (like a spam folder at least).
