Re: PTF install questions

John,

Way back in the day there might have been a firmware upgrade in which you
had to complete it by an IPL on the P side and he just forgot to change it
back. Even if there was buggy firmware, hopefully with your new PTF's and
what not you'll have that beaten into submission.

According to the help, *SYS, which is the default, will also work.
Apparently the missing piece is the front panel setting of "T". Bit of
paranoia slipping in: years ago, sa held back CA updates. Something
about
the updates messed up an application. Nothing was written down. I hope
he
didn't set it to "P" for a reason only he knows.

PTFs

on

the OS so it always was marked like that. Never knew if they

got

up

to date on PTFs but a lastest-cumulative-install should have

cleared

that.

I dont think IBM goes around replacing Service Processors all

day

so

i

doubt it's your case...

remotely

fix this minor irritant. Am I right?
