I am no expert.  But, it reminds me of an experience I had with a
scale and using BASIC.  From what I can see on the page, it should be
easy to interface with sockets.  I didn't see the ASCII strings it
returned.  But, I am sure that it just sends a string when a card is
swiped.  Just have a program waiting for a string to arrive.

As far as clocking in and out. also somewhat easy.  Save the data, of
course.  First swipe is a clock-in.  Second swipe is a clock-out.
Possibility exists of somebody running card through twice by accident.
 My guess would be to toss a swipe that happens less than a minute
from a previous swipe, unless total number of swipes in a period for a
card is not even.
