Many vendors offer "extended" support for products whose official end of
support date has passed.

It's usually considerably more expensive than a regular support contract;
sometimes the level of support is the same sometimes it's less.

Ex SAP:
http://www.sap.com/turkey/services/pdf/BWP_SB_CSN_Standard_Support.pdf
mainstream support - 5 years
extended support - 1yr @+2% & 2yr @ +4% (3 years total)

And of course if you're big enough, you might be able to work out something
even longer...
