I agree that the manuals could use a bit of work.
I don't dislike Infocenter. In a lot of ways it's pretty darn good.
However for a guide to do certain stuff it really lacks. Like "how to
create a guest partition". My main reference is a 6.1 announcement type
example.
I have a coworker who self educated himself SQL from the manuals. And he
really bangs it out.
I asked my boss for a sql manual some years ago and he had no trouble
springing for it. I still refer to it. But, I don't limit myself to it
and use Infocenter for statement lookup. I don't want to limit myself to
V4R5 technology. One of the reasons I destroyed every paper RPG manual
from V2R3 I found at people's desks.
