I'm also thinking of trying EGL but I would have to get past the learning

Another option (non IBM i solution) is to write the function in .NET
could call it from the IBM i in a whole host of different ways (RESTservices,
run remote pc command)). For the .NET stuff it's even simpler to printthen

By far the easiest solution in my opinion is to do it in .NET if you
amount of code to accomplish the same goal will be much smaller in .NETtens
