Another option (non IBM i solution) is to write the function in .NET (and
you could call it from the IBM i in a whole host of different ways (REST
services, run remote pc command)). For the .NET stuff it's even simpler to
print then in Java, see the code here:

By far the easiest solution in my opinion is to do it in .NET if you can.
The amount of code to accomplish the same goal will be much smaller in
.NET versus the alternatives.
