Me personally? No. Clients, yes, and I've even experienced it when I was an
IT manager years ago.
I'm surprised they didn't have you change the batteries yourself.

Do you currently have hardware under maintenance? Is this what you are
experiencing? I'm not seeing that for a bulk of the stuff I have replaced
on my i. I do see that for tape drives though. Just had IBM out last
week to replace two disk cache batteries.
