How can one recreate? I tried mapping a key to Field+ and using that to
exit a field. That didn't change it.
I even created a 5 character file(T1) and put x'F0F0F0F0D5' and
X'F0F0F0F0C5' and copied that with *nochk into a 5,0 decimal file (T2). I
ended up with
F0F0F0F0 D5
F0F0F0F0 F5

I guess in a way it shows that the C is not corruption. Let me do one
further test...
The above zoned file was created with sql. If I whip out the stone knives
and create one with DDS(T3) and copy into that I get:
F0F0F0F0 D5
F0F0F0F0 C5

This returns zero: select sum(myzoned) from qtemp/t3
This returns 10: select sum(abs(myzoned)) from qtemp/t3

I guess that's one way to recreate.
