We went from V5R2 on an 810 to V6R1 on a Power 7 8202 about a month ago
and it was a piece of cake :-)

At every conference that I speak at, I always ask the number of people
on various releases. At both COMMON in MSP and in COMMON Europe in
Milan this year, more than 50% the people said they were on 6.1 or 7.1
in my sessions.
That is on the upswing which I think is a good thing. There is a lot of
FUD in the market place about going to 6.1 or 7.1, and if you plan your
upgrade, follow ALL the steps, insure you followed all the steps, your
upgrade should be very very smooth.
