Hi Folks,

New Power 7 (well as of late April) and the 3572 Tape Unit. Got a call
at 6:15 this morning from a branch no one could access the system. I
tried from home and same thing. Get into work and the Power 7 is down.

Powered it back up and it eventually came back up - except for the tape
unit; no power. Started looking into what happened and at 20 after
midnight during backups is when it dropped.

So as near as I can tell something happened with the tape unit and it
caused a power surge in the PDU and knocked the Power 7 down. AC light
on the PDU port where the tape unit power cord plugs in is green. Tape
unit will not power up no matter what I do (pulling the cord, etc.).

So does that sound plausible as to what could have happened?

The Power 7 has two power cords but only one is plugged in at this time.

Thanks!

Chuck
