The LPR column is "remote outq".
The 490n also supported under snmp - which will provide much better support.
btw-i tell customers if the printer doesn't make these IBM lists - i don't care how cheap it was... it generally will either not work, or not work consistently, and not worth$$ the time to attempt it.
IBM has done a very good job with these lists.

2. Considering the volume, I am thinking about an Okidata MicroLine 490n.

Now my question is this: Will this printer work as a remote outq? Are some
printers better suited to work with the iSeries than others?
