Occasionally we look at such things. Right now we're thinking of away
from Citrix and on to some new player on the block (whose name temporarily
escapes me). Not only do you have low maintenance but you have the
portability. The other advantage is that if you have some serious
client/server stuff (like Lotus Notes) think of how much faster,
especially in remote sites, it would be to only transfer the screen full
of data and not the whole attachment to the remote client. Sort of like a
highly graphical version of a dumb terminal. I know of people looking at
this situation just because of remote site speed of data access, right
Phil R.?

My boss may look at Linux again. Right now with Lotus 8 and the imbedded
symphony products he's thinking that for 95% of the users that would be
all the desktop they need. Comes with:
- Notes
- imbedded browser
- Symphony with word processing, spreadsheet, powerpoint like product, etc
He'd still like the remote desktop situation better. Speaking as someone
assigned to roll out Notes versions to hundreds of users it sounds
attractive to me also.
