Gary,
Well, we could easily do some testing with just trials of my software. It
has some logging that will tell you where the authentication is required.
I've only seen authentication at the mail router (sending) end though.
Feel free to contact me offline and I'm happy to help. thanks!

Check the mail router and if anything with that has changed.
Authentication is becoming more and more popular. so just start going
down the line starting with the mail router that is in use.
I don't see how it can be a problem with the router at the sending end or the
router at the server end because the server log show that the email is rejected
"Sender requires authentication"
Also, what is being used to send the email? If it's the IBM SMTP server I
don't believe they've implemented authentication as an option yet.
The software used to send the email was created by PA Townsend & Associates
email software. I don't see any options that requires authentication.
Thank you,
Gary Kuznitz
If you figure it out and require software to send email using
authentication, let me know. My MAILTOOL software will help with this.

I'm having trouble sending an email from an AS/400. I have sent emails before
with no problem. I can't figure out what is causing the problem now.
The email is sent from PA Townsend & Associates email software. Because I'm
running with V4R4 (Upgrading is in the works) They no longer support their
software.
The error I am getting is: From User requires authentication.
The same error is in the AS/400 job long and on the email server log.
I don't understand why it's requiring authentication all of a sudden. I don't
see any configuration options to authenticate the User. The email is using an
email server running on a PC called Communigate Pro. The configuration of the
email server hasn't changed.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this running again?
Thank you,
Gary Kuznitz
