I couldn't imagine the OS being open sourced. Who's going to work on it?
You? Me? There's are some brainiacs in this part of computerdom, but
on the OS as well as doing everything else? Methinks there are those amongand
us that don't realistic expectations about what an advanced OS takes for
support and development. And how would you find people that know the OS
language(s) well enough to maintain it?suggest

I usually refrain from reacting to this kind of comment - but to

Especially to the people I will be seeing in the next 2 days at these
purportedly fictional labs!!!
what are they working on? How many programmers work there? Will we
soon be able to remote desktop to the i server, click on an icon to
run the program, which would pop up the green screen and/or display of
the spooled output?
It is good if IBM still has a labs. Much more could be done if the OS
was open sourced.
