I could not see why that would make a difference but I did a CRTUSRPRF USRPRF(DUMMY) ASTLVL(*BASIC) anyway. Signed on as DUMMY. DSPJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT)
WRKSPLF
Changed it to a real printer. Let it print. WRKSPLF
Still no F6.

Rob:

I couldn't see any reason either, but <F21> didn't work for me on WRKSPLF. All I could think of was doing what was in Loyd's suggestion exactly... and <F6> finally showed up. Further, it's available now via WRKSPLF<F21> even after setting my profile back to ASTLVL(*SYSTEM) as it was originally. Weird.

But this system does have job accounting. I'm not surprised that job accounting is where it comes from. That's where I've gotten it in the past. It's quickly resolved a few problems over the years...

"Hey, where'd my CR-22 report disappear to?!"

"Let me check, Sam... hmmm... looks like it was printed by user SAMK at 2:25 this afternoon... 44 pages on printer PR05... right after the AB-17 report which was also printed by SAMK... just a minute..."

"Oh, never mind. I just found it. Thanks!"

"You're welcome."

Cleanup can be automated (IIRC) if the journal is set as MNGRCV(*SYSTEM) and DLTRCV(*YES), and saves are done, and cleanup options (GO CLEANUP) allow for it. The QACGLVL system value should specify *PRINT in order to get the accounting going. I suppose that GO SETUP does it all for you.
