The rack & mounting brackets are deeper than the chassis to allow for
cabling and the cable management arm (which you correctly identified). The
5 screws are 4 + a spare. Depending on the bracket design you'll use one in
each corner or two in each front/rear corner (with the bracket just hooking
on the rear/front).

The latches probably lock at some point when the machine is extended forward
out of the rack to prevent it from sliding back in while maintaining the
system. If they're like what I've seen before there a little lever,
sometimes metal but sometimes blue plastic, that you pull to release the
catch & allow the server to slide back into the rack.

BTW, the cable management arm is your friend. Besides a neater appearance
it will hugely help to keep cables from getting pinched or pulled out when
moving the server for maintenance.

removable pin, and a couple of loose hinge pins, apparently for
attaching it to the back ends of the drawer tracks. Could this be the
"cable management arm"?

Can somebody explain what it is I'm looking at?
