IBM i consultants may find this informative:

Billable hours for lawyers? Hah! More like billable 6-minute increments:
"Hello, come in, sit down, 50 dollars. What can I do for you ... ka-
ching, ka-ching"
As for me, a project takes as long as it takes although the focus is
on completing quickly and I only bill for time actually worked.
Anything else is both unethical and dishonest. I trust that my clients:
a) Appreciate honesty
b) Appreciate timeliness
c) Appreciate quality
d) Appreciate value but are prepared to pay for skills
e) Will give follow-on work because of those traits.
If clients don't fit the above then I'm not very interested in
working for them.

Simon Coulter.
