Thanks again.

This is pretty interesting. The thing that I am a little uncertain about, and may not be related, is that the passthrough I/O module, the one with the 5 cat5 cables running out of it (labeled A-E) is OK as reported by the AMM but none of the cables light up an Ethernet port when plugged in to a switch.

On the AMM the SOL config is like this:

Serial over LAN
SOL VLAN ID: 4095
BSMP IP address range: 10.10.10.80

But that is about it.

Still searching, thanks for the help.

Pete

Thanks. Right now I am working through an error that says:

"SOL is not ready", which despite the ominous acronym, has to do with
the Serial Over Lan status. It IS enabled, but doesn't seem to be
entering the "ready" state. Still searching for an answer to that issue.

Hmm. I'm not sure, and i can't find it right now, but i remember
something about the SOL IP adresses about having to be in a specific
range (the IP range for the SOL ip addresses can be configured
somewhere in the AMM).

I also found an IBM manual that suggested powering off the blade and
then powering it on again.

I'ver experienced this problem though.

However, i never got that error
