There were a few functions added to Query/400 over the years, for
which I could never figure the justification, yet neither of the very
valuable STRIP nor TRIM were one of those added. Do what you want in a
SQL SELECT or VIEW, and if the latter, then refer to the VIEW in the
query definition or another SELECT. I recommend a pure SQL solution
rather than using CQE via Query/400.
