I would think that the before swap 21 would be fine. If you still have a
concern with that you could use the checklist in appendix D of the
Save/Restore manual "swapping to a different system" or some such thing.
In there it outlines the steps to not restore the configuration. Now, I'm
not talking about your lines, devices, and other stuff that shows up in
WRKCFGSTS... I'm talking about the stuff that shows up in WRKHDWRSC.

On my V5R4 machine, when I do a DSPPTF, I see, at the VERY top:
Product ID . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 5722999
IPL source . . . . . . . . . . . . . : ##MACH#B
Release of base option . . . . . . . : V5R4M5 L00

That's what Chuck is talking about.

Also, regarding your cume, if you do a DSPPTF do you see something like:
TL0yddd where yddd is a julian date? That sort of matches your cume media
TL0yddd would match Cydddvrm where vrm is version, release, modification
level.

Best case scenario: You did a DSPPTF OUTPUT(*FILE) before and after and
can query that.
