The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
That is too bad Jon, I can see a lot of uses for this if the error handling
was better. Still works perfectly for output uses though.

Subject: RE: Date field in Display file
Just for my own information and educational purposes,
is there a way to use date data types in an input
capable format that does not have this error occur?
Some special form of trapping, etc.?
Not that I have ever seen. Dates on display files was a long time coming
(never did make it to printer files unless they snuck it in while I wasn't
watching) and the support kind of stalled out after that initial surge.
Some parts of the support like mapping blanks or the current date as
defaults are good, as is the ability to key in dates without the separators
and having it do it all for you. But the error handling is fixed - you
can't even make the messages more meaningful if I recall correctly.
