Opening it up isn't hard. First git yerself a 7MM socket and chuck it up 
in yer drill/driver and lock the driver into reverse. Then pull the 
front cover straight off. Around back loosen the screw at the top 
center. Slide it back and lift it up. Then remove the two screws at the 
top of each plastic side cover and they will fall off. From here on it's 
a simple matter of removing every freekin screw you can find. The sides 
will fall off once the screws are off. Up to four drives will be on the 
left and up to eight on the right. In each case you'll need to pull off 
the power and data cables then the drives will simply pull out (though 
they are fairly stiff.)
