Thanks is how our Exchange admin set up relaying, only allow from the
iSeries 10.* addresses. If you have more than one just be sure they
enter them all.

If they are, then they
need to allow relaying. If not, then to Exchange, it's just like all
other e-mail from the outside world. I would have them check the SMTP
service on their Exchange server to make sure that they don't limit
what
IPs are allowed to connect."

We will be sending both inside & outside addresses
some mail to customers
some mail to admin & manager - alerts & status
They are a little leary of open unrestricted relay - they were
blacklisted
for allowing a spammer to take over for a while.
I'm hoping Exchange can restrict relay to only from our iSeries "10."

From our Exchange admin.... "We do allow all of the iSeries IP
addresses
to relay through the Exchange server, but from reading the e-mail I'm
not sure if they are trying to send mail through the Exchange server
addressed to external e-mail accounts or not. If they are, then they
need to allow relaying. If not, then to Exchange, it's just like all
other e-mail from the outside world. I would have them check the SMTP

What can I tell the admin of an Exchange Server so that
email sent from iSeries (via Aaron's RPGMAIL) will be accepted?
iseries pgm has no errors & appears sent ok.
Can telnet to the server from iSeries, port 25 & looks ok.
I am assuming he needs to allow the relay from the iSeries,
but so far he is not "getting it".
