I have no real clue about java, but wouldn't it be possible to create a "pseudo" as400.* namespace, which redirects to systemi.*? -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces+l.beeler=dataline.ch@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+l.beeler=dataline.ch@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Joe Pluta Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 7:59 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: What's in a name? That will NEVER change, Tommy. Heck, the package names use "as400". The amount of work to change all of them is prohibitive, not to mention the fact that every line of code every written to use the product would be broken. IBM would have to ship a utility to modify all programs to use the new package and class names, and even then you'd have problems. That's why you have to think VERY carefully when naming your packages and classes; you'll be stuck with those names for a VERY long time. :) Joe
From: Holden Tommy Unless it's changed recently the java toolkit still uses as400 for all classes, etc.
