From: Lukas Beeler Etc. I don't have a problem with the "System i" name, but it sucks a lot that IBM didn't go all the way and make sure that you won't find the string "OS/400" in V5R4 anywhere, at any place. Oh, and by the way, iSeries Access still installs to %ProgramFiles%\IBM\Client Access\. And the default password for the ssl keychain is still "ca400".
That's my problem as well, Lukas. I don't per se have a problem with the new name, I have a problem with how arbitrary the renaming is. If you're going to rename something, do it all the way. If you can't be bothered to rename the system completely, then why should we be bothered to use the "new" name? To me, the "System i" name is an arbitrary moniker that could be changed in a heartbeat. If, on the other hand, there was a thorough effort by IBM to make that name consistent throughout the product and, if not in all printed material, at least in the web documents, then I would give the name a little more credence.
