Joe,

Here is the scoop.

iSociety.org is a Welcome page to assist you in understanding iSociety.
COMMON hosts a member site (iSociety.common.org), which is the membership page for iSociety. System i Portal is the iSociety member site which was designed to provide all the information and links related to iSociety - that is its purpose, and that is why the information links on the iSociety page point there.

System i Portal, while being a site supplied by a vendor in our community, is a site that connects ALL System i sites that it has information about - without bias. Try this search: http://systemiportal.com/search/verticalSearch?searchstring=Joe+Pluta&stype=all&from=0

If you are against the one site that has been built to ASSIST the System i community to connect all the information it can, then I encourage you to build one and add it to iSociety.

Trevor

And Joe, your unjustifiable personal vendetta against one website does not
help bring the community together.

It's not a personal anything. I love how anybody who disagrees with you is
a personal vendetta. The simple fact is what I've tried to explain to you
in private email, but you keep ignoring: I don't see why there are seventeen
links to System i Portal and ZERO links to midrange.com (or lots of other
great sites).

If iSociety doesn't really have any content of its own, and has nearly two
dozen links to one site, then iSociety is basically a landing page for that site. It's like those Google landing sites that respond to everything, but
then every link is to the same vendor.

In effect, you've set up a site that purports to be a community site, but
most of its links are to a specific vendor site. If you don't see the
potential conflict there, I can't help.

And the criticism is meant to be constructive. I am not saying iSociety is
a bad idea, or that your work is for naught. It's just that the current
configuration of the website has, in my opinion, some serious conflicts.

As I've said in private email, put ONE link to System i Portal, just like
any other website, and move on. No agenda, just an issue of appearance.
Take it or leave it.

Joe
